We live in an attention economy — constantly pulled, scattered, overstimulated.

what if an object could bring you back?

"The Amulet Design of the New Decade"  reimagining the amuletnot as a charm of supernatural power, but as a contemplative tool.

A small thing you hold.

A micro-ritual of 30–90 seconds.

A way back to now.

The Amulet Design of the New Decade

Moving the Mind to Open Spiritual Experiences is a doctoral design research project by Jantra Junpitakchai (Silpakorn University, 2025) that proposes a practical framework for contemporary amulet design.

The research addresses the mental health crisis of the "attention economy" — designing objects that function as embodied-time anchors. Through multisensory interaction (touch, weight, sound, texture), these objects guide users from a state of distraction into mindful calm through micro-rituals of 30–90 seconds.

Prototypes were validated through triangulated evidence: internal state recordings, expert assessment panels, and EEG brainwave data — resulting in a Q-E-R weighted synthesis score.

The work bridges design practice and spirituality with empirical grounding.
